Mark Eugene Robb, a 34-year resident of Three Rivers, California, passed away Sunday morning, January 10, 2021, due to COVID-19. He was 96. His wife of 70 years, Dot, is currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
A graveside service will be held Friday, January 22, 2021, at 11 a.m., at Three Rivers Cemetery.
Mark was born in Wentworth, Missouri, on December 14, 1924. He graduated from Diamond High School in Missouri and then went onto serve in the United States Army in the Pacific theater during World War II.
On July 8, 1950, he married Dortha Rae. Two months later, the U.S. Marine Corps reactivated him and he went to fight in the Korean War. After the war, Mark and Dot settled in Monett, Missouri, where they started their family.
In 1957, the family of five moved to Sacramento, Calif., where Mark worked as a mechanic for FB Hart’s. In 1965, Mark went to work for the California Highway Patrol in Visalia, Calif., as a Motor Carrier Operation Specialist.
Upon his retirement in 1986, Mark and Dot moved to Three Rivers, Calif., where they built their dream home. They were active in the community, teaching square dancing, creating woodworking projects, restoring old automobiles, and working on all kinds of different projects to help his neighbors and the community.
Mark was proud of working with the Comfort for Kids projects, making quilts for children with cancer. He was their chief sewing machine repair person.
Mark was a hands-on engineer. He could visualize something and build it. He would much rather build it himself than go to the store and buy it.
Mark loved the Lord and spent his life following the word of God. He called himself a non-denominational Christian and attended Community Presbyterian Church, First Baptist Church, and St. Clair’s Catholic Church in Three Rivers.
Mark is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dortha “Dot” Rae Robb; three children, Shirley Delane Robello and husband Mike Robello of Farmersville, Calif., Mark Dwayne Robb and wife Barbara of Visalia, and Denise Lynn Bayens and husband Robert Bayens of Louisville, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Alan Rhinehart, Mark Rhinehart, Kambrya Rhinehart (Garett Worrell husband), Shannon Hammond (Chad Hammond husband), Justin Robb (Donna Robb wife), Melanie Figary (Will Figary husband), and Alyisha Bayens; and great-grandchildren Christopher Rhinehart, Jana Rhinehart, Matthew Rhinehart, Dylan Rhinehart, Bayley Rhinehart, Katelynn Bradford, Riley Bradford, Paeslee Worrell, Reid Hammond, Bradley Hammond, Lilly Robb, Tessa Robb, and Vivian Robb.
Services are under the direction of Evans Miller Guinn Chapel in Exeter, Calif.
