Regina Ristow of Three Rivers, Calif., died Tuesday, December 3, 2019. She was 93 years old.
Here is a letter from Reggie’s daughter to the community of Three Rivers:
THANK YOU, THREE RIVERS
My name is Danette. I am the daughter of Everett and Regina Ristow.
My parents moved to Three Rivers when Dad retired. My dad passed away some time ago. My mother recently passed on December 3, 2019.
I was a bit worried how she would do without my dad as she was a bit shy. Well, her church, First Baptist Church of Three Rivers, and all the members really brought her out of her shell. The whole community did. She even once went into Anne Lang’s Emporium, ordered a cup of coffee by herself and visited with whomever wanted to join her. That was a WOW moment.
So many people supported my parents over the years when they needed help. I want to take a moment to thank all the good people of Three Rivers; I cannot begin to name all of you. Many of you know me and know what my parents meant to me and what some of you mean to me. My mother was my best friend. I will miss our conversations and phone hugs.
One of my favorite memories is one Christmas when I talked her into having a Christmas decorating party. I brought all my decorations to Three Rivers with me. We let everyone at the church know and spread the word to the community. You would not believe how crowded her little house was. She kept saying, “I didn’t realize that I had this many friends!” She was beaming all night!
Thank you so very much, Three Rivers and the First Baptist church! Oh, one more thing: Pastor Alex, can you please give her one more wink?
God Bless all of you and Merry Christmas!
